It is important to use appliances that are specifically designed for the marine environment. Marine LPG Appliances are robust enough to handle high humidity, vibration and shocks and jolts.

What Marine LPG Appliances are Available?

When used correctly, LPG is an excellent fuel for marine use, but when badly installed these systems do carry risks. Our engineers are fully qualified and can give you piece of mind. Our marine gas engineers are also more than happy to carry out general checks and servicing on your existing appliances. We would recommend an annual service and safety check on all marine LPG systems and LPG appliances

LPG for boats is usually stored in gas bottles of varying sizes. The exact sizes will be dependent on the usage needs of your LPG appliances. LPG gas comes in two forms – butane and propane. These are two chemically different gases, so have slightly different properties. Butane burns hotter and can be a little cheaper, but does not like cold temperatures below 5°C. Propane burns slightly colder, but will keep flowing until -45°C. The LPG appliances themselves can take either kind of gas, but if you are switching from one type to another you will need to have the regulator changed. Bottles should be stored securely onboard, usually in a purpose-built gas locker. Our engineers will follow all relevant regulations and ensure your LPG/Gas system is safe and meets BSS requirements.
