UK-based Propex are well known and have been manufacturing air and water heaters for the marine sector for over 35 years. Propex heaters are a very good alternative to diesel heaters. Heatsource LPG Air Heaters by Propex
Propex Heatsource are blown air heaters and are fully thermostatically controlled. They can be run on propane and butane. All units are supplied as standard with a solid-state electronic thermostat. The thermostat automatically turns the unit on and off to keep your boat at the desired temperature. Propex Heatsource appliances are fully room sealed and can be mounted in any part of the vessel. The heaters are designed to be quiet in operation without compromising air throughput and heat output. Propex heaters are designed to operate quietly. There will always be some air noise from an air heating system, however, by using high-quality well balanced fans and sealed motors, noise is kept to a minimum.
– Add On Mains Electric Options
The Heatsource – E options have a built-in electric heating module that can provide 500w, 1kw, or 2kw. This is very useful for boats with a home mooring with a main electric hook-up, or to use surplus solar energy. If you have a backup generator, it can also get you out of trouble if you have accidentally run out of gas. The fan speed is automatically adjusted for each power level to ensure maximum efficiency. When running on the low 500w setting, the motor noise is kept to a minimum, making it ideal for nighttime running. The heater comes with a mains cable with a wall plug.

LPG Marine Water Heaters by Propex
The Propaex high-capacity LPG water storage heater for boats is available as a standard gas-only heater or as the E version. The E-version has an additional 750-watt electric heating element. The burners can be used together or independently of each other. This is ideal for those with a home mooring and electricity hook-up, or for using surplus solar energy. Both heaters can provide a very quick and efficient supply of hot water for showering and washing. The 13-litre capacity refers to the internal hot water tank that will heat and store water to 70°C. This is then automatically mixed to around 42°C domestic hot water, giving much more than 13 litres of usable hot water. There will be plenty of hot water available for a low-pressure shower on a boat.
