Dickinson Marine has been a hallmark of nautical heating and cooking since 1932, specializing in rugged, high-quality diesel appliances designed for the most demanding marine environments. Known for their iconic stainless steel aesthetics and exceptional durability, Dickinson stoves and cookers provide “dry heat” that effectively eliminates moisture and condensation in boat cabins, whether you are on a canal narrowboat or a coastal cruiser.
Dickinson Diesel Heating and Cooking Solutions
The Dickinson range is divided into bulkhead-mounted heaters, floor-mounted stoves, and full-sized diesel cookers. Unlike traditional solid fuel stoves, these appliances use the boat’s existing diesel supply, providing a clean and convenient heating source that requires no wood or coal storage.
Diesel Stoves & Heaters
- Newport (Bulkhead Mount): A compact, space-saving diesel heater that mounts directly to a bulkhead. It is ideal for smaller cabins or as a secondary heat source.
- Alaska & Antarctic: Floor-mounted stoves that provide significant radiant heat. The Antarctic is the larger of the two, designed for larger interior volumes.
- Lofoten: A floor-mounted stove featuring an integrated cooking plate on top, making it a versatile choice for both heating and light meal preparation.
Diesel Cookers
Dickinson’s range of diesel cookers—including the Bering, Bristol, Pacific, Adriatic, and Atlantic—provides a complete off-grid cooking solution. These units act as both a high-output cabin heater and a full-function oven and hob, making them the heart of many liveaboard galleys.
Expert Installation and BSS Safety
Installing Dickinson appliances requires specialised knowledge of forced-draft and vapourising burners to ensure correct fuel flow and flue draught. Our OFTEC-trained engineers specialise in Dickinson diesel stove and cooker installations, ensuring every unit is fitted with a high-quality marine flue kit and meets Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) standards.
For more information on the safe use of liquid fuel on boats, please refer to the OFTEC consumer guide and the BSS fire safety hub. We are currently offering free installation for narrowboat stove kits throughout the Winter 2025/2026 season.
