At Marine Heating Solutions, we define value through engineering precision and technical efficiency. We provide a “right first time” service that ensures your vessel is safe, efficient, and fully compliant with all Canal & River Trust (CRT) licensing requirements.
The Specialist Difference: Efficiency vs. Rate
When choosing an engineer, the hourly rate only tells half the story. A lower rate often results in a higher total bill if the technician lacks the specialised marine training to work effectively.
- Straight-Line Problem Solving: Our vast experience and extensive qualifications allow us to move directly to the correct technical solution, rather than spending billable time “figuring it out” on your boat.
- Vast Experience: We hold a wide range of certifications, including Gas Safe (LPG Marine), OFTEC, and Boat Safety Scheme (BSS), ensuring rapid and accurate execution of complex tasks.
- Reduced Long-Term Costs: Expert installation reduces fuel consumption, prevents premature component failure, and ensures you pass BSS inspections without costly re-tests.
Estimates and Assessments
We offer two professional routes to get a formal estimate for your project:
- Physical Site Visit: We can come to your vessel for a physical inspection. While the assessment itself is free of charge, our standard call-out travel expenses remain payable for the visit.
- Virtual Online Assessment (The “Fast-Track” Option): Booked via our live calendar. To protect our technical time and ensure we are speaking with committed clients, there is a small booking fee (£30 or £60). This fee is 100% credited back against the physical labour on your final invoice for any job exceeding our 2-hour minimum.
CRITICAL: LPG & Gas Systems We do not provide virtual assessments, technical advice, or any project discussions regarding Gas or LPG systems. This must be done in person during a site visit.
Mandatory Gas Safety Checks: For boat gas work, we are legally obligated to carry out safety checks of the entire installation when working on any part of it. These checks are normally conducted as an LPG Safety Certificate and are charged at the standard hourly rate. We recommend doing this during the initial on-site assessment so we can identify what is needed to bring the installation up to standard—including BS EN ISO 10239:2025 and BSS gas core requirements—and include it in your estimate. This prevents future delays or failures during recommissioning.

- Call Out Travel Charges: Our standard call-out travel charge is £60.00 for locations within a 1-hour drive of our Midlands location. Locations further away will be quoted on an individual basis. Please note that London call-out charges are different and depend on where in Greater London you are (we currently only cover north-west London areas).

Payments, Materials, & Warranty
Warranty: Materials carry their own manufacturer’s warranties (typically 6 months to 3 years). Note manufacturer warranties usually only cover the repair or replacement of broken parts; travel and labour costs for fitting warranty-exchanged parts remain the responsibility of the client. For exact warranty terms and warranty lengths for individual appliances, please email us.
Payments: All call-outs are payable directly to our engineer on the day via Cash or BACS. Projects exceeding one day (such as full system installs) require payment at the end of each working day.
Appliance Supply: We supply all materials and appliances. If you choose to supply your own marine appliance that we do not retail, you must ensure it is on-site before work commences.
Returns Policy: We order materials specifically for confirmed jobs. Returns for “unwanted goods” must be completed within two weeks of the payment date, even if we hold some of the items in storage for you. Made-to-order appliances cannot be returned once production has started. This is usually the day you pay for the order.
A Note on Appliance Prices and Estimates
We strive to keep the pricing on our website and in our estimates as accurate as possible; however, all listed appliance prices are approximate. Constant economic uncertainty, global conflicts, and fluctuating fuel prices mean that our costs are continually changing. In many cases, our suppliers increase their prices without notifying us. Because of this, the actual cost of an appliance may be higher by the time we place the order than it was when we initially gave you an estimate. We appreciate your understanding that our online prices and written estimates are a guide, and we cannot guarantee that hardware prices will remain fixed.
Image Accuracy
To help our customers visualise our products in realistic marine environments, some images on this website have been created using digital editing and AI technology. While we take every care to ensure these templates accurately represent our appliances and typical installation standards, slight visual discrepancies may occur. These images are for illustrative purposes only; if you are in any doubt regarding the exact appearance or technical specifications of a product, please email us before placing your order.
Trading Status & Continuity
Marine Heating Solutions was established by Sebastian Meier in 2018. To ensure a more direct and efficient service for our clients, the business transitioned from a Limited Company to a Sole Trader structure in October 2024. While our legal structure has changed, our engineers, contact details, and commitment to marine safety remain exactly the same.
