Read moreOn a boat, space and energy efficiency are the primary drivers of technical design. Solid fuel cookers represent the ultimate multi-functional appliance, providing high-output cabin heating alongside a reliable cooking platform that operates entirely independently of the vessel’s electrical system. Whether you are a year-round live-aboard or an off-grid explorer, a well-integrated solid fuel range or stove-with-oven offers a level of self-sufficiency that modern diesel systems cannot match. At Marine Heating Solutions, we specialise in the bespoke installation of marine cookers, ensuring your galley is as safe as it is productive.
Installing a solid fuel appliance that is also used for cooking requires a sophisticated understanding of thermal dynamics and flue performance. Because these units often run for extended periods, the engineering-led installation process must be uncompromising.
We supply and install the industry’s most reliable solid fuel cooking appliances:

Chilli Penguin: Known for the ‘Hungry Penguin’ and ‘Fat Penguin’ series, which offer highly efficient fireboxes with integrated top-mounted ovens.

Salamander: The ‘Little Range’ is a dedicated small-format cooking stove, featuring optional side heat shields, a hotplate, and a high-performance oven.

Go Eco Adventurer: A modern, clean-burning appliance with an optional oven and warming plate, perfect for smaller modern craft.

Bubble: Offers traditional back cabin cooking ranges that provide immense thermal mass and a classic narrowboat aesthetic.
See all our compatible solid fuel boat cookers and oven-stoves in no particular order below. This collection features both dedicated ranges and stoves with integrated ovens; for detailed technical specifications, please navigate via the main menu to our specific brand pages.
To ensure your vessel remains compliant with Canal & River Trust (CRT) licensing, any solid fuel cooker must meet the Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) standards. This includes specific requirements for non-combustible hearths and the mandatory installation of certified Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarms in the same cabin as the appliance.
Our team includes OFTEC certified technicians who specialise in the installation of solid fuel appliances in small craft to BS 8511:2010. We provide full certification for every installation, which is critical for your insurance validity and your four-yearly BSS inspection.
