Read moreFor many boaters, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) remains the most versatile energy source for cooking, instant water heating, and central heating. However, the unique environment of a vessel—where gas is heavier than air and can settle in the bilge—demands a level of installation precision far beyond domestic standards. Selecting marine-grade LPG systems is the first step toward a safe on-board environment, ensuring that every component from the regulator to the burner is engineered for the rigours of the water.
Marine LPG systems are governed by strict safety protocols to prevent leaks and carbon monoxide accumulation. Our engineering-led approach prioritises system integrity and long-term reliability.
We support the industry’s most trusted manufacturers of marine gas equipment, ensuring your installation meets the highest performance standards:

Morco: The maritime standard for LPG instant water heaters, providing reliable, on-demand hot water.

Propex: Specialised LPG blown-air heaters like the HS2000, offering a clean alternative to diesel heating.

Thetford: High-quality marine cookers and hobs designed for the compact dimensions of narrowboats.

Alde: Premium hydronic central heating systems providing silent warmth and hot water through radiators.

LP Bolton: Manufacturers of the Voyager cooker series, providing reliable marine-grade cooking solutions for galleys of all sizes.

Statesman: Reliable gas cookers and appliances engineered for efficiency in maritime galleys.

Every LPG installation must strictly adhere to the Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) requirements to ensure the validity of your Canal & River Trust (CRT) license. This includes mandatory gas lockers with overboard drains, high-pressure orange hose replacement intervals, and the use of approved copper piping.
As GasSafe registered engineers with specific marine competencies, we ensure all work meets the current BS EN ISO 10239:2025 standard. Upon completion, we provide the necessary certification confirming that your appliances are correctly installed, commissioned, and safe for use on the UK’s inland waterways.
