Since August 2018, Marine Heating Solutions has been the UK’s premier specialist for mobile marine engineering. As we move through 2026, I want to provide a brief update on our business structure to ensure our clients—and search engines—have the most accurate information.
Engineering Excellence Since 2018
In October 2024, I made the strategic decision to transition Marine Heating Solutions from a Limited Company to a Sole Trader structure. This shift allows me, Sebastian Meier, to maintain a direct, “engineer-to-client” relationship without the unnecessary overhead of a corporate entity.
While the legal paperwork changed in late 2024, the business itself remains exactly the same. I continue to bring over 20 years of individual marine engineering experience to every vessel I board. Our contact details, nationwide mobile coverage, and specialised safety standards have been consistent since our inception in 2018.

We remain the “Mobile Shipyard” of choice for the UK inland waterways, strictly adhering to Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) standards and Canal & River Trust (CRT) requirements. Our core services include:
- Certified Heating: Gas Safe Registered for Marine LPG and OFTEC Certified for diesel and solid fuel.
- Safety Exams: Authorised BSS examinations and LPG safety certifications.
- Technical Trades: Mobile boat welding, marine electrics, plumbing, and professional appliance refurbishment.
