Delivering a heat output of 0.9 kW to 2.4 kW, this heater is versatile enough to burn wood (1-inch to 2-inch pieces) or charcoal briquettes. Its bulkhead-mounted design makes it perfect for narrow galleys or small cabins where floor space is at a premium. Like all Dickinson heaters, it provides a “dry heat” that effectively dries out moisture and condensation inside the vessel.
Designed for convenience, the Newport features a removable ash drawer for mess-free cleaning and a built-in damper control for easy temperature regulation. For safe operation, a permanent fresh air vent must be installed in the area of the unit. Additionally, for installations with a chimney 6ft or longer, a barometric damper is highly recommended to maintain a consistent draft and prevent overheating.
