The Dickinson Lofoten is specifically designed for boats between 35 and 45 feet, offering a steady heat output of 1.9kW to 4.8kW. What sets the Lofoten apart from other floor-mounted Dickinson models is its integrated cast-iron cooktop, which allows you to simmer a stew or boil a kettle while the stove warms the cabin. Like its counterparts, the Lofoten excels at producing “dry heat,” which is essential for managing condensation and moisture in marine environments. With an efficient fuel consumption of only 0.2 to 0.5 litres per hour, it is a practical and cost-effective choice for long-term cruising.
Technical performance is bolstered by a built-in 12V draft assist fan, ensuring reliable operation during start-up and in high-fire mode. The stove’s utility can be further expanded with optional hot water coils; a 1-turn (1kW) or 2-turn (2kW) coil can be fitted to supply domestic hot water or power radiators, making it a central part of a comprehensive boat heating system. For sailboat installations, the unit must be oriented facing fore or aft to account for the vessel’s movement. A permanent fresh air vent in the cabin is a safety requirement for proper combustion.
