The Dickinson Lofoten is a versatile and efficient floor-mounted diesel boat stove, uniquely designed with an integrated cast-iron cooktop. This dual-purpose appliance provides steady, dry heat for boats ranging from 35 to 45 feet, while simultaneously offering a reliable surface for preparing meals—making it a perfect centerpiece for liveaboard vessels and off-grid narrowboats.

Dickinson Lofoten: Heating and Cooking Combined

The Dickinson Lofoten delivers a flexible heat output between 1.9kW and 4.8kW, effectively drying out cabin moisture and preventing condensation. It is exceptionally fuel-efficient, consuming just 0.2 to 0.5 litres of diesel per hour. The addition of the cast-iron cooking plate transforms this heater into a functional galley asset, allowing you to boil a kettle or simmer food without using additional gas or electricity.

For increased functionality, the Lofoten can be fitted with a 1-turn (1kW) or 2-turn (2kW) hot water coil, enabling it to supply domestic hot water via a SureCal calorifier or power small radiators. To ensure reliable performance in all weather conditions, it features a 12v draft assist fan for start-up and high-fire operation. Note that a permanent fresh air vent is required in the cabin to support safe combustion.

Professional Installation and BSS Safety

The installation of a vapourising diesel stove with a cooking surface requires precise calibration of the fuel valve and flue system. Our OFTEC-trained engineers are experts in Dickinson Lofoten diesel stove installations, ensuring every unit is safely commissioned and compliant with Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) fire safety standards.

For further technical and safety resources, please visit the Dickinson Marine Support Portal and the OFTEC consumer guide for liquid fuel appliances. We are currently offering free installation for our narrowboat stove kits during the Winter 2025/2026 season.
