Chilli Penguin’s Chilli Billie Gentoo Boat Stove
The Chilli Billie Gentoo wood burner boat stove is a redesign specifically developed to meet Eco Design criteria while retaining its characteristic small, round porthole window. This high-efficiency solid fuel boat stove is ideal for yurts, camping pods, and narrowboats, requiring a nominal 4.3 kW heat output. The stove is front-loading and features a stainless steel top plate as standard, allowing users to cook by placing a small saucepan or kettle directly on the surface. Its operation is made highly controllable through three separate air controls: an air boost disc for lighting, an air wash slider for clean glass, and an air control knob.
A range of optional extras allows users to customise the Chilli Billie Gentoo for enhanced functionality and aesthetics. For cooking enthusiasts, optional “Food Tubes” slide in behind the firebox, offering a simple way to cook brunches and dinners using the stove’s heat. Practical add-ons include interchangeable Side Shelves, which can be fitted on either side to extend the top cooking surface, and a Starter Pipe, which is required to increase the flue size to a standard 125mm. Furthermore, the Penguin Enclosures (such as the Classic Round and Corner options) are double-skinned heat shields that create a distinct housing space, provide a hearth, and minimise clearances to combustibles. The stove is available in the standard Penguin Black finish, as well as optional colours like Seal Grey, Storm Blue, Charred Red, and Evergreen.

When installing in confined spaces, the Penguin Enclosures act as double-skinned heat shields to minimise clearances to combustibles. Because this stove requires a starter pipe to increase the flue size to a standard 125mm, we recommend our BSS guideline-compliant twin-wall insulated flue kit for a safe and efficient finish.

Penguin Boat Stoves are made to order. Depending on the time of year, waiting times for delivery can be around 2 to 4 weeks approximately. Please ensure that you are prepared to wait for your stove to be custom-made. The manufacturing process begins when we receive the order. Therefore, your order cannot be amended, cancelled, or returned as unwanted once you have paid for it.
