The Dickinson Bristol is a compact, masterfully engineered diesel galley range that serves as both a professional-grade cooker and a high-output heater. Ideal for vessels where space is at a premium, it provides a reliable heat source and a dedicated oven and cooktop for gourmet cooking at sea.
Dickinson Bristol: Professional Diesel Cooking & Heating
The Dickinson Bristol delivers a significant heat output of 1.9kW to 4.5kW, ensuring a warm and dry cabin environment even in harsh conditions. Despite its performance, it remains remarkably fuel-efficient, consuming only 0.2 to 0.5 litres of diesel per hour. Built from heavy-duty marine-grade stainless steel, the Bristol is designed to withstand the rigours of long-distance cruising and liveaboard life.
Key features include a 12V draft assist fan for consistent combustion and a fully functional oven and cooktop. For owners looking to maximise their utility, the Bristol can be equipped with an optional hot water coil to supply domestic hot water via a SureCal calorifier or to power a central heating radiator.
Expert Installation and BSS Safety
Our OFTEC-trained engineers specialize in Dickinson Bristol diesel cooker installations, ensuring compliance with all Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) fire safety standards. Vapourising burners require a steady draft to operate safely; therefore, a permanent fresh air vent is required, and a barometric damper is necessary for chimney runs exceeding 6ft.
For technical guidance and safety standards, please refer to the Dickinson Marine Support Portal and the OFTEC consumer guide for liquid fuel appliances. We are currently offering free installation for our narrowboat cooker kits during the Winter 2025/2026 season.
Custom Kits and Certification
The Bristol is available as a complete Narrowboat Kit (£4028.00), which includes the cooker, a full flue system, drip tray, fuel line components, and a diesel appliance safety certificate. This certificate is a mandatory requirement for marine insurance and BSS examinations. Additionally, you can benefit from our stove trade-in deals, offering up to £250 off your new appliance.
Free Installation Offer Winter 2025/2026
We are offering free installation for all narrowboat stove kits between the 15th of November 2025 and the 15th of February 2026. See individual appliance listing for boat stove kit prices. Email us for details.
