The Bubble Solid Fuel Boat Cooker is more than just an appliance; it is the heart of a traditional galley. Often found in the back cabins of narrowboats and the cosy galleys of canal barges, this compact solid-fuel range cooker offers an authentic maritime experience. Combining the warmth of a wood-burning stove with a fully functional oven and hotplate, it allows you to roast, bake, and simmer with the reliable, dry heat of solid fuel. Its vintage aesthetic adds a timeless charm to any vessel, while its robust construction ensures it survives the rigours of life on the water.
Bubble Solid Fuel Boat Cooker: Traditional Cooking for Modern Voyagers
Engineered for efficiency, the Bubble Cooker features a high-temperature combustion chamber that maximizes fuel economy and provides a cleaner burn. The deep ash pan is a liveaboard’s dream, capable of holding up to 24 hours’ worth of ash, meaning fewer interruptions to your heating and cooking cycle. With three controlled air routes, you have precise control over the fire, whether you need a quick boil on the hotplate or a slow-roast in the oven. For those seeking a complete energy solution, the cooker can be fitted with an optional 1kW side boiler to heat domestic hot water via a calorifier or power a radiator.
BSS Compliance and Expert Installation
Proper installation is critical for heavy-duty solid fuel ranges. To ensure your vessel meets all safety requirements, you should consult the official Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) advice for solid fuel stoves. Our OFTEC-trained engineers specialise in Bubble boat cooker installations, ensuring your range is safely integrated into your galley. We recommend our Bubble Solid Fuel Cooker Narrowboat Kit, which includes a high-grade flue kit and a safety certificate.
