The Dickinson Alaska is a standout choice for boat owners seeking a robust, floor-mounted heater. With a versatile heat output range of 1.9kW to 4.8kW, it provides ample warmth while remaining remarkably fuel-efficient, consuming just 0.2 to 0.5 litres of diesel per hour. Built from marine-grade stainless steel, the Alaska is engineered to withstand the harsh conditions of life on the water. Its “dry heat” delivery is particularly effective at combating cabin dampness and condensation, a common challenge for year-round live-aboards.
Technical precision is a hallmark of the Alaska. It includes an integrated 12V draft assist fan to ensure reliable combustion and efficient heat distribution, even in challenging weather or during start-up. For those looking to maximise their energy efficiency, the stove can be fitted with an optional 1kW hot water coil, allowing it to assist with domestic hot water via a SureCal calorifier. To operate safely, the unit requires a permanent fresh air vent in the cabin and a flue of at least 6ft (ideally with a barometric damper).
