By utilizing the boat’s existing diesel supply, the Antarctic offers a reliable and efficient alternative to solid fuel stoves, without the need for fuel storage like wood or coal.
Dickinson Antarctic: Robust Floor-Mounted Heating
The Dickinson Antarctic features a powerful heat output range of 1.9kW to 4.8kW, while maintaining impressive fuel efficiency, consuming only 0.2 to 0.5 litres of diesel per hour. Its design is focused on durability and functionality, providing a steady radiant heat that dries out cabin moisture and prevents condensation. To assist with performance, the unit includes a 12v draft assist fan for quick start-ups and improved combustion on high fire settings.
One of the Antarctic’s most versatile features is its ability to be fitted with either a 1-turn (1kW) or 2-turn (2kW) hot water coil. This allows the stove to act as a central heating hub, supplementing your domestic hot water via a SureCal calorifier or even powering a small radiator. For safe operation, a permanent fresh air vent is required in the cabin, and for flue runs of 6ft or longer, a barometric damper is highly recommended.
