At Marine Heating Solutions, we believe a cold boat is an unhappy boat. Your vessel is your sanctuary, but without reliable heating, the British winter can turn a dream lifestyle into a damp, dangerous challenge.

Our mission is simple: to provide boaters with the safest, most efficient heating and plumbing solutions available. Whether you are a year-round liveaboard on a narrowboat or a seasonal cruiser on a coastal yacht, we are here to ensure you stay warm, dry, and safe.

Why We Started: A Story of Necessity

Marine Heating Solutions was born from the direct experience of passionate liveaboard boaters. Our founders, previously directors of Floating Boatyard, launched this specialist service in 2018.

The inspiration came during the “Beast from the East” in early 2018. During that historically harsh winter, it became glaringly obvious that boat owners faced a massive hurdle: finding reliable, safe, and truly competent marine heating engineers. General domestic plumbers often lack the specific knowledge required for marine regulations, and that gap in the market was putting boaters at risk.

Our Expertise: Safety Without Compromise

Marine heating is a high-stakes environment. Dealing with LPG gas, diesel fuels, and solid fuel stoves in the confined space of a boat requires more than just “mechanical skill”—it requires specialised certification and an obsession with safety.

When you work with Marine Heating Solutions, you are hiring qualified professionals. Our team includes:

  • Gas Safe Registered Engineers: Specifically qualified for marine LPG.
  • BSS Qualified Examiners: Experts in the Boat Safety Scheme standards.
  • Specialist Tradesmen: Experienced in diesel heating, solid fuel stove fitting, and complex marine plumbing.

Our Aims: Beyond Just Warmth

A warm cabin isn’t just about comfort—it’s about safety.

  1. Crew Health: A cold, damp boat leads to fatigue and illness. When the crew is recuperated and warm, they are more alert, making navigation and lock-work safer for everyone.
  2. Vessel Longevity: Proper heating and ventilation prevent the buildup of condensation and mould, protecting your boat’s woodwork, electronics, and structure.
  3. Safety First: We don’t just “fit heaters.” We ensure your installation meets every BSS and Gas Safe regulation, protecting you from the silent threats of Carbon Monoxide and fire.
