Mobile Boat Welding
Mobile Boat Welding has been part of our daily work at Marine Heating Solutions for many years now. We often have to repair roofs and other boat structures before we can fit heating appliances and flues. We also weld gas lockers for new gas installations, as well as dabble in a few other things, like seats and stairs.
Until now, we have only been offering mobile boat welding repairs as part of other boat heating and plumbing jobs. As of the end of August 2020, we will be offering mobile boat welding as a general service. This can now be booked as a stand alone call out, like any other of our services.
What Parts Of Your Boat Can We Weld
As a rule, we only carry out welding work above the water line. Boat welding repairs are also only done on parts that are not structural to the hull. It is worth keeping in mind that this is a maintenance service only. The only works available below the waterline are fixing anodes and fittings repairs, where this doesn’t affect hull integrity.
Our Arcgen 165 welder generator is very quiet. It is no louder than a silent suitcase generator, which should keep neighbours in your marina or on the towpath relatively undisturbed. Some noise from cutting steel is to be expected though. You may need permission from the landowner, before we can start work.
The Video above gives a few examples of what we do and it also shows what standard we work to. There are some interesting mobile boat welding repair projects on show in the video. We would recommend watching it in full.
